My Sister's Keeper
Jan. 7th, 2007 11:22 pmI just finished reading My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. It was a great bookâup until the very end, at least. LAMEST. COP OUT. EVER. Oh, she justified it with that crap about one of them having to die for the other to live, but we all know that was complete bull. She just didn't want to have to come up with an actual ending.
She also didn't want to listen to anyone when they told her to trim that monster back. Four hundred and twenty-three pages? Woman, take the editor's advice. Piling as many words into a single novel as possible doesn't make it any better, and that is a lesson you apparently have yet to learn.
The more I think about it, the more I dislike about that book. It's not bad, I don't hate it, but the little things really start to pile up when there are four hundred and twenty-three pages of them. So I'm done.
