Midnight Madness
Nov. 27th, 2006 01:44 amThis was probably the best Thanksgiving of my life. My aunt and uncle had to be out of their old house today, so on Thanksgiving we all went over and helped them pack up, then migrated to our house for dinner and games and conversation. All my favorite cousins were there, Ashley's baby likes me, and Juli's boyfriend Brett was just as entertaining as I remembered.
We did more packing, moving, and arranging of stuff at the new house on Friday until around six, and somewhere around seven the movie night with no movies started. We watched all nine episodes of Hana Yori Dongo, a highly amusing jdrama Lexi introduced to us, and it was amazing. I love being with them; no one here is quite so perfect. ♥
We couldn't fit all nine episodes into Friday night, so we continued into Saturday morning and afternoon. After everyone left, my sister and I went coat shopping, which was surprisingly painless. I found a coat that was okay, but for $60 I want my winter coat to be a bit more than okay, so I skipped it. My sister is very happy with hers, though, so that's good. We picked up Brett on the way back, and he kept trying to convince me to go out to dinner with them. I couldn't because of my complete lack of money, but it was definitely nice to be wanted. I'm glad he seems to like my company as much as I like his. They're a good pair.
Packing and leaving was relatively painless, though the early hour of the train and my late night combined against me to make me forget to pack Christmas lights for my room. I got some Latin done on the train—both ways, actually, as I studied a bunch of old material on the way up—and contemplated doing French before deciding sleep was a better option.
I swear I was the only person who had to sit next to someone on the bus from Portland to Salem. It wasn't a bad experience at all, but it was still a bit annoying. I want to know why I looked like such a good person to sit next to. What is it about me that attracts random crazy guys? I am not nearly hot enough for things like this to keep happening to me.
So if Michael wrote on my wall half an hour ago and the light in his room is still on, do you think I'm justified in going over there at nearly two in the morning? I miss him.
