Feelin' Groovy

vollmusYesterday when I got home, a nice big package from target.com was waiting for me on the stairs. It was my $100 Mossimo leather jacket that was only $25, and it was green, and I was happy.
And glowing, apparently. I was complimented all day long today for that jacket and how I looked, which I didn't think was all that special. Apparently Dane thinks I'm pretty. It was nice to know that someone I'm not related to thinks I'm at least slightly attractive, even if it was Dane—it was odd, even if it was also immensely satisfying.
Also, first period IB Art is fabulous. I love having Kevin, Lawrence, Natalie, Rachelle, Dane, and Sheila all together—it would be so much better if Alex were with us again, too, but Kevin and I won't be too desolate without him in such great company. The great thing about this group is that we can actually be productive while we're chatting. I've gotten so much done these three days since semester started, it's ridiculous. I'm well on my way to finishing two studio pieces by Monday, and I should be able to finish another watercolor studio piece by that Friday. I'm glad we're all being productive, because I at least really need to be—I have nineteen studio pieces to finish by April, which is an absolutely horrendous amount, really. But we're super encouraging, and we're not holding back with compliments so far, which is nice—we've grown up enough since last year for each of us to have found our forte, and we've realized that everyone else has their own forte, too, and that it never hurts to recognize someone's achievements.
I love art. It's shaping up to be my favorite class this semester, and I'm so excited to see what will come from it.
