Bad Vision
Jul. 28th, 2004 07:40 pmI'm sick of hearing the line, "What you see is what you get," in songs. I don't know about you, but people don't see everything about me. For one, you can't tell everything about me just from the mood I am in at the moment someone looks at me. I have many more moods than one, and you would have to see all of them for the line to work.
Second, I don't know anyone who doesn't censor themselves in crowds. They are always slightly different when it is just the two of us. This tells me that everyone hides who they are to some degree. How can what you see be what you get if you can't see the truth in the first place?
I know the line is mostly used as a "you can't change me, you arsehole" type thing. But everyone does. Every single person you meet has some effect on you, especially people who try to change you.
So shut up, Kimberly Locke. Your song sucks. Do you even know how old that line is? How old that stupid song situation is? Holy Hannah. Get your own material! You have the voice, girl, but your selection sucks arse. *gag*
