A Blooming Artist
May. 29th, 2004 08:46 pmHmm: Blooming in the flower sense, or in the minor British cuss word sense? Things to ponder...
I just drew a really cool (in my opinion) picture for my letter to Emily that I'll be sending to her at camp on Tuesday. I was looking at some random DeviantArtists, and found echolalia's stuff and decided to save some of it so I could draw it later. (It's more fun for me to draw people other than myself --unlike how I am with dolling-- but it's hard to get models XD so I draw from photographs.) Well, I was looking for some stationary to use for Emily's letter, when I decided to just create my own with a drawing of echolalia on the side. So I drew it. And I like the outcome, a lot.
You can see the pencil strokes, even though I artistically smudged them. The face isn't sized correctly, even though I thought I had proportioned everything right. But the smudging created a really cool glowy effect that was part of what I loved so much about echolalia's picture, and the eye that I had to fix ten times is now absolutely perfect.
My thumb is black along most of the side and the pad, and gray in many other places, but I am perfectly fine with it, because I am in love with my picture. I almost don't want to send it to Emily now, and use it instead in my French project so I can show it off to the whole class. But I made it with Emily in mind, so there's no way I could just not send it to her. Nope, it was made for Em.
I really hope she likes it.
