I am now officially a paid intern at the WEA.
I can't believe it! I went up against Alicia M, guys, and she is more involved in leadership and community service than most of the people I know. I also went up against two other unknown people, all for one position. And I won. I WON!
I have a job now, guys. I can't believe it. I don't start anytime soon, July 19 is my first day, but... I have a job! I work from 11 to 5, I think--eleven is for sure, and I think they close at five, but she didn't exactly say.
Oh my gosh. Forgive me if this entry seems completely off; my mind is still whirring. I got the job, I got the job!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. That last entry was a piece I wrote for English which was supposed to imitate Sandra Cisneros' (The House on Mango Street) writing style. I think I did really well with it, except for that "food in a tin" bit, heh. The last paragraph is one of the ones I like most out of everything I can think of that I've written. I love the "sitting on the moon" bit.
