The Spot of the World
Sep. 25th, 2004 12:20 pmAt three-thirty yesterday while I was folding stuff at work, I became extremely tired. I could barely concentrate on folding, let alone the other things my mind usually wanders to when I normally do mindless jobs. I ended up calling my mom and leaving twenty minutes early. As soon as I got home, I crashed on my bed and didn't wake up until eight-thirty this morning--sixteen hours of sleep. It was heaven.
So yeah. That was weird.
In history yesterday we took a vocab test. We had to learn twenty words (castigate, exacerbate, manumit, autonomous, etc) and were to be tested on fifteen of them: part of speech (if the word was a verb, we could change it to adj or n form if we wanted), definition, and sentence. (If we changed the part of speech, we had to define it and use it in a sentence as the pos we changed it to.) We had twenty minutes to do all of this. I was really nervous, because all of the people I'd talked to who had it first period told me that twenty minutes was a lot shorter than they thought it was. By the time we started, I was jittery and shaking slightly.
How long did it take me to finish the test? Ten minutes. Ten minutes! I was the first one done by far. It was eery. It especially freaked me out because I had skipped the first five words (I blanked on colonize when I first saw it, and parochial wasn't any better--I just couldn't get the words to come out at first) and then went back to them when I'd finished the others, so I though I must have skipped some word somewhere. But I counted what I wrote, and I had fifteen. I had all the sentences, parts of speech, and definitions. Sarah Lee, Travis, Michael, Boo--everyone--they were all still writing franticly. It was crazy.
So yeah. Yesterday was weird. And today I feel really weak. My arms are really tired right now, from staying up while typing. The same thing happened while I was drying my hair with my towel after my shower. My legs are the same. It's crazy.
