I just got my reply letter from Emily today. I don't remember when exactly I sent mine, but it was awhile ago, and I had been wondering why she hadn't replied yet -- apparently, she accidentally gave me the wrong zip code, so it took awhile for her to get the letter. XD Anyway, her letter was totally cute, with little stickers and smilies all over. I'll probably reply sometime next week, though I'm definitely going to begin making the stationary tomorrow during church.
Church, church, church. Two weeks ago we had a last-minute substitute for Sunday School, and our entire lesson was him sharing stories that strengthened his testimony of the Lord and of the LDS Church in particular. He asked us periodically if we had anything we'd like to say, and once I took him up on it. "What happens if we pray hard and live the way the church asks you to but never get an answer to those prayers? What happens when you don't get a good feeling or a thought that says, 'This is right.' What happens then?" He just looked at me and said that no one could answer that but me. I replied that no one else had an answer, either.
Sometimes it is so frustrating being around people every Sunday (and every fourth Thursday, when I have a Girl's Camp meeting with the other YCLs) who have such strong testimonies when I have little to none. I mean, if I am ever going to truly join any church, it will be the LDS church -- there is no way I could believe in God and Jesus Christ and all of that without believing in the Book of Mormon -- but I have such problems with the fundamentals of the religion and with Christianity in general that it's just not possible for me to be a member 100% çe moment. I go to church, I go to the activities, and I work for my YW Medallion, but I do it and will continue to do it because I don't want to create too much of a hullabaloo. I don't really believe in any of it that requires faith in a heavenly being, though I do believe in many of the morals taught.
Eh. Hard topic, that is.
Guess what?! I'm actually using a client right now instead of actually going to lj.com to update. I'm so proud of myself; I'm actually changing the way I normally run something, which I never do. :D Maybe I'll make the leap from IE to Safari soon! :o
